Tom Dolan has been dedicated to partnering with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada for decades. As an involved, passionate and longtime board member Tom has been able to see Catholic Charities grow and flourish over the years!
Back in 2010 Catholic Charities added an event to the lineup which is most widely known as the Plates to Ease Poverty Gala. This event has had many names over the years; Bishop’s Dinner, Bishop’s Humanitarian Award Dinner and Plates to Ease Poverty. In 2020, with the current landscape, the event will need to morph and change yet again. With these changes will come another new name, Raise the Roof to Ease Poverty! This virtual event will keep everyone healthy and safe while continuing to help those in need in our community!
Catholic Charities is committed to continuing on with the event even if needs to look differently to fit the current times! In order to continue forging ahead and working to ease the pain of poverty for individuals the show must go on. Team Dolan is so happy to help!
On Monday, August 17th, we are going to “Raise the Roof” to Ease Poverty! KBUL Country 98.1’s very own J.J. Christy will be posted up on the roof of Dolan Toyota starting at sunrise. Christy will be braving the elements until the community helps him meet his fundraising goal of $50,000. He will be joined by KOLO 8 News Now Meteorologist Jeff Thompson who will broadcast the weather live.
J.J. will be out in the blistering sun and might even stay overnight on the roof depending on how long it takes to bring in the funds needed. Interested in donating? Click HERE!
That evening from 6:30 to 7:30pm Catholic Charities will broadcast their own event on Facebook Live hosted by the lovely Wendy Damonte.
