We here at Dolan Auto Group have to tip our cap to Kia, our esteemed South Korean automaker. Its all-new compact hybrid crossover, the 2017 Niro, is a veritable vehicular slam-dunk.

And what makes it so, exactly?

Allow Kelley Blue Book Senior Associate Video Editor Zach Vlasuk to explain; his evaluation of the Niro can be found in the clip below:

The Niro's drivetrain is no doubt an intriguing one. Its 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine works in concert with an electric motor and lithium-polymer battery to produce a peppy 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive are standard.

Also standard with the Niro is incredible fuel efficiency. The base FE model, for instance, is expected to return a robust 50 mpg combined (52 city/49 highway).

For more information about this handsome hybrid, or to take the wheel of one, we invite you to swing by our Reno, NV showroom. Our seasoned staff is available to address your every question regarding the Niro, or any other Kia model throughout the current catalog.
