Why Are the Car Tire Pressure Lights Illuminated?

The tire pressure indicator lights in your car warn you trouble may be coming from the tires. Here are some of the causes when the lights keep coming on.

The change in outdoor temperature does impact the tire pressure each day. If the temperature were to suddenly drop ten degrees, each tire could drop a pound of pressure. Now remember that the tire is already allowing air to naturally escape at around a pound a month, so this could certainly cause the indicators to go off.

You may not realize you ran over an obstruction because it is buried in the tire tread and hidden. As air slowly escapes, you will get an indication which tire is experiencing trouble when the pressure light comes on. Take that signal from the tire pressure light seriously by bringing your vehicle to our Reno service center so we can inspect the tires for any signs of trouble.
