The Sales Consultant is the Dealership's primary sales representative. You are responsible for all aspects of the sales transaction and, as such, should seek to meet your customers' needs in every thought, word and gesture. As a Sales Consultant, you play an important role, from identifying prospective customers to maintaining ongoing relationships with those customers to representing the dealerships' parts, service and collision repair departments to them after the sale. You may also be called upon to assist customers in choosing new or pre-owned vehicles, as well as financial services, accessories and options.
The primary goal of the Sales consultant is to provide customers with extraordinary service. As part of your commitment to deliver extraordinary customer service, you are expected to meet or exceed dealership objectives. Sales consultant responsibilities generally include:
- Developing viable prospects.
- Greeting customers.
- Conducting a needs analysis for the customer.
- Presenting products that meet the needs of the customer.
- Preparing and presenting proposals.
- Prompting a mutual agreement.
- Facilitating vehicle deliveries.
- Following up with customers.
- Delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Attaining consistent high scores and positive feedback from customer surveys.
